Remember the online component to Uru: Ages Beyond Myst? It\'s back, and on GameTap! Coming this December, gamers will be able to explore the Ages of Uru in droves, allowing a whole new dynamic of puzzle solving gameplay that has yet to be implemented in anything but a MUD or PUD. Here are some screenshots from the upcoming game, things are looking good. Puzzle-solving good.

Screenshots of Playstation 3 games continue to suggest that publishers are trying to take full advantage the PS3\'s power. Yesterday, publisher Koei released a bunch of new screenshots for Fatal Inertia, their futuristic hover racer that looks vaguely reminiscent of both F-Zero and the pod racing from Star Wars. Its gameplay emphasizes the use of physics as a tool to win races, but Fatal Inertia\'s graphics engine is evidently looking pretty good too. You can see that from the new screens.

As if you didn\'t have enough reason to love this game. Here are 17 brand new hi-res screens of the Xbox 360 version of F.E.A.R. You\'ll see some nice particle effects, lighting effects, and others. Early builds showed that the game didn\'t have wall parts chunking out after being shot, but these screens show otherwise. Check \'em out!

First Encounter Assault Recon or F.E.A.R. hit the PC some time ago. It\'s scheduled for a November 1st release on the Xbox 360. Vivendi Universal has confirmed F.E.A.R. is coming to PS3 and we\'ve got the screens to prove it. Look for this awesome shooter to make it to the PS3 lineup during the PS3 launch window.

THe Darkness, adapted from the cult comic book from TopCow, was all but nonexistent from E3 2006 excepting, maybe, a trailer we\'d seen before. But never fear Darkness fans, because progress is being made and we\'ve got the screens to prove it. Inside are three high-rez pics straight from 2K Games.

Web traffic drops during the summer as gaming news runs dry and warm weather draws people away from their monitors. Fourth of July often represents the summer\'s ultimate low in traffic, and pretty much everyone in the gaming industry takes the day off. If you haven\'t had a chance to spend some time outside in the beautiful weather, now is the perfect day to step outside into the cooling evening, put away the games for a moment, and take in a part of life that doesn\'t run on electricity. Tomorrow we can return to the flash of modern life, but tonight and maybe tomorrow we here at GamesFirst are going to stretch out, light some fireworks, and enjoy a good birthday. We hope you consider doing the same. Happy Fourth of July, everyone.

If you have a PC running Windows Media Center Edition and an XBox 360, you already have access to a slick UI that you can use to stream media to your 360. Unfortunately, Microsoft severely limited what video codecs are supported out of box to Windows Medio Video and ASF. Fans of alternative formats like Xvid and DivX were simply out of luck. Thankfully, the people that brought us the Xbox Media Center have come to our rescue with a free download that lets you play a wide variety of formats on your Xbox 360. Take a look to see how it works.

The Da Vinci Code was and is one of the best mystery books ever published. By combining historical references with symbolic knowledge and a bit of reasoned speculation, The Da Vinci Code paints an engrossing image of traditional Western theology. In many ways, it\'s the ultimate mystery. Now, 2K Games has released the first screenshots of the video game based on the movie, which of course, is based on the book. How well the story will translate into either movie or game is yet to be seen, but some of us here at GF have high hopes; The Da Vinci Code\'s depth makes it perfect for an art medium that can combine pictures, interactive discovery, and an experience longer than 3 hours.

It\'s been a little while since the release of the Xbox 360 in November of last year, and some of us are starting to feel a little thirsty for new games. Ubisoft decided to remind us what we\'re all waiting for by releasing screenshots of their upcoming Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. This tactical shooter for both the Xbox and the Xbox 360 is looking to be - potentially - one of the best releases of the year. Of course, this wouldn\'t be the first Tom Clancy based game to look good, and then play poorly. Time will tell, but it doesn\'t hurt to salivate a little.

Slitherine Strategies recently hit GF! with the very respectable Legion Arena, a Roman-themed strategy war title with a shallow learning curve and some surprisingly good gameplay. Now, they are hard at work on Cult of Mithras, an expansion to Legion Arena that combines ancient history and ancient mythology. Now you\'ll pit Roman legions against armies of ghosts, shadow warriors, or fire demons, and fight for your gods as you battle your way to Elysium. Featuring enhanced graphics noticeably better than the original game, the latest screens from Cult of Mithras look great. Check them out here.
