Is Link About to Die?
game: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
news | 11/27/05 | Aaron Stanton
There\'s an article over at TheHylia.com that pools what we know about The Twilight Princess\' placement in the Hyrule time-line, and makes some interesting conclusions. Twilight Princess happens decades after Ocarina of Time, but before Wind Waker? Interestingly, we know what happens after Ocarina of Time from the introduction of Wind Waker: No hero appears, everything goes to crap. If Link is there somewhere in-between, he fails.

Spyro: Shadow Legacy
game: Spyro: Shadow Legacy
review | 11/17/05 | Laurie Taylor
Spyro: Shadow Realm is more than a little shady. In fact, it\'s all we can do to keep from making a dragon-doo joke. But this one is for the kids, so let\'s keep it clean. Spyro: Shadow Legacy is a deeply flawed game, with unfinished, glitchy gameplay. It doesn\'t take long for the game to get repetitive, and the fact that half of the game is just the first half with a different color palette doesn\'t help. Check Laurie\'s review for the lowdown on Spyro: Shadow Legacy.

review | 10/24/05 | Shawn Rider
Aspyr is not one of the biggest publishers, but with some solid games under their belt (Lego Star Wars was a groundbreaking title), they\'ve put out some great experiences. The highly anticipated Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse is an incredible effort. Built on the Halo engine, Stubbs the Zombie features some rock-solid gameplay that is good, wholesome, gory fun for zombie fans. Infected: Unlockable Characters Announced
news | 10/19/05 | Laurie Taylor
Majesco has announced several exciting unlockable characters for Infected, the fast-paced shooter for the PSP. Announced unlockable characters for Infected include Bloodrayne and members of Slipknot. Given Infected\'s gruesome gameplay footage that mixes horror and Christmas, and given Infected\'s rocking soundtrack with several tracks from Slipknot, Infected is shaping up to be a major November release. We\'ll still have to see how Infected shapes up in light of World of Warcraft\'s adventures in virtual plagues, but it looks like it will be a great game and an important game for the PSP.

Gekido Coming to PSP
game: Gekido: The Dark Angel
news | 10/17/05 | Shawn Rider
Naps Team, an indy beat \'em up developer, has announced Gekido: The Dark Angel for PSP. We would normally wait until we had much more information before talking about a game, but we remember the action of the PSOne version of Gekido, and the crazy GBA version of the game, too. These are evolutions of a classic genre, beefed up but still feeling very comfortable. In a way, Gekido can be to beat \'em ups what Guilty Gear is to fighting games, and this PSP title might just be the breakout installment in the series that gets gamers to pay attention. We\'ll keep up with Gekido\'s development, and in the meantime you can check out these teaser screens from developer Naps Team.

Trace Memory Review
game: Trace Memory
review | 10/12/05 | Laurie Taylor
Trace Memory for the Nintendo DS is a bold take on what an adventure game can be, and it provides a whole new take on the concept of \"all killer, no filler.\" Trace Memory clocks in at a very brief five or six hours, which is definitely not the norm in gaming these days, but those are some of the most enjoyable five or six hours we\'ve seen in an adventure game. Our resident academic gamer, Laurie Taylor, takes a look at this unique title.

The Chronicles of Narnia Preview
game: Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
preview | 10/06/05 | Aaron Stanton
Sometimes it takes a movie to turn a good idea into a game. The fantasy setting of The Chronicles of Narnia is an ideal world for the basis of a video game, containing monsters, heroes, and mystical creatures. Even separated from its religious basis, the story behind the classic children\'s tales offers everything a game designer could hope for to create a rich, living environment. In November, developer Traveler\'s Tales will be releasing a video game based on the upcoming movie adaptation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and GamesFirst! has had an opportunity to play through a preview build of the title. What we found is a game worth looking forward to. Check out our preview.

Xbox 360 Screens of GUN
game: GUN
news | 10/06/05 | Shawn Rider
I don\'t even like westerns, but I love Deadwood. The grimy, gritty Old West environment, teetering between nature and civilization, lends itself to some gripping drama and high adventure. Plus, there\'s plenty of cursing. So I get very interested when I hear that Neversoft, one of my fave game developers, has also been watching Deadwood, and has created an entire game based in the Wild West, with the goal of expanding the open-play scenerio beyond cops and robbers. GUN will come out this Fall for Xbox, PS2 and Xbox 360. We\'ve got some XB360 screen here and a bit more about the game.
