Company of Heroes Review
game: Company of Heroes
review | 11/04/06 | Sean Hilliard
Best RTS of all time? After sending our strategy freak Sean Hiliard into the battlefield, he realized that Company of Heroes is all that and a bag of potato chips. It might just be the best real-time strategy game of all time, and it is without a doubt the best strategy game of 2006. Get off your footlocker soldier! We have the reasons why you won\'t want to miss this one, private.

The Ongoing Conflict: Ubisoft's Haze
game: Haze
preview | 05/19/06 | Blaine Krumpe
Ubisoft brings us another military-themed First Person Shooter, Haze, which there obviously aren\'t nearly enoug of these days... But Haze feels a bit different, too. Charged with some serious political satire, Haze gets you all tied up with Mantel Global\'s corporate mercenaries in the ongoing war for democracy. Expect plenty of drugged-up supersoldiers and some tricky ethical decisions, two things we\'d like to see a lot more of in the FPS genre. Get Blaine\'s full preview here.

UberSoldier! Review
game: UberSoldier
review | 05/01/06 | Tristan Mayshark
If the slow pacing of FPS titles like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 put you off, UberSoldier might be able to offer a more mindless and action oriented experience at a budget price. Some players will think it\'s a wonderful excursion from the tedious, and some players will quite reasonably hate it. For the former group, this zombie-filled WWII shooter is worth the $29 that you\'ll put down at your local video game store. It embodies old-school first person shooting, executing the genre tried-and-true without all that complicated crap like an interesting plot.

Call of Duty 2: Big Red One Review
game: Call of Duty 2: Big Red One
review | 12/10/05 | George Holomshek
Activision\'s Call of Duty series has been a big hit, so it\'s only natural that fans are excited about Call of Duty 2: The Big Red One. Exploring the campaigns of Russia, Central Europe and North Africa, Call of Duty 2 offers a cinematic FPS experience that is intense and gritty. Smoke and dirt and explosive action makes the visuals as beautiful as they are terrifying. George has battled through COD2: The Big Red One on the current-gen consoles, and has brought back this report from the front.

Vietcong 2 Review
game: Vietcong 2
review | 11/21/05 | Sean Hilliard
Vietcong 2 puts gamers into the Vietnam War and allows them to play either American or Vietcong forces. Solid gameplay and nice production values make Vietcong a decent title, but a completely stock story and some boneheaded AI prevent it from standing out. Vietcong 2 is still a welcome change from the overplayed WWII games that proliferate these days. Check in with Sean Hilliard for his complete review.

Everything from the AI of enemies and allies to the stellar graphics and enhanced environments have been improved upon, making Call of Duty 2 one of the most hectic battlefield simulations out there. Three New Quake IV Screens
game: Quake IV
news | 09/07/05 | Shawn Rider
We know a few things about Quake IV: The single-player mode returns and has you fighting among the soldiers fending off the oncoming Strogg onslaught. The game runs on the Doom 3 engine, and it looks amaazing. And by all accounts from this summer\'s QuakeCon 2005, the multiplayer kicks @$$.

Full Spectrum Warrior
game: Full Spectrum Warrior
review | 11/26/04 | Blaine Krumpe
There's nothing quite like a little realism in a tactical game. Originally developed as a training tool for the U.S. Military, Full Spectrum Warrior tries to separate itself from other strategy games by offering action designed to be like the real thing. Can you keep your soldiers alive under hostile fire? FSW let's you find out.

Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix Review
game: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix
review | 06/28/02 | Rick Fehrenbacher
Activision follows up their cult hit with a sequel that mostly gives the fans more of the same. Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix features nicer graphics and a more robust GHOUL system (which allows you to take out your enemies piece by piece), but the gameplay remains oriented around shooting, shooting, and shooting more. America's Army Preview (PC)
game: America's Army
preview | 06/08/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
It\'s bizarre to see the US Army making such a PR push. First they produced that reality Web series about boot camp. Now they\'ve created a development house, America\'s Army and two games: Operations and Soldiers. One is an FPS built on the new Unreal engine that should give Clancy fans and their ilk a treat. The other is an RPG. Both are free for the playing. Click for more.
