Online Negotiation Games by Zap Dramatic
review | 10/30/06 | Laurie Taylor
Zap Dramatic makes a unique series of games built around negotiating. In games such as \"The Raise\" and \"The Mediator,\" players must navigate through a complex social web, made more realistic by a touch of unpredictability and predictable limitations. Dialogue-oriented games are occasionally popular (Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, for example), but often suffer from the good/bad, light side/dark side, oversimplification of games like Fable or Knights of the Old Republic. Laurie takes a look at some of the Zap Dramatic offerings in this group review.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
game: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
review | 02/24/05 |
Knights of the Old Republic II finds itself in the difficult position of trying to improve on one of the best games in recent years. The result is a game built on tried and true game dynamics, a darker emphasis than the original, and a new story that takes you from Star Wars planet to Star Wars planet, but doesn't break ground and drops you at the end. A blast to play, but missing a little bit of that special magic that was captured in the first, KotoRII might not rock your world. David has the inside scoop.

LucasArts Focus: Star Wars: Empire at War
game: LucasArts Focus: Star Wars: Empire at War
preview | 02/14/05 | Blaine Krumpe
For some time, Star Wars games have had a perpetual hold on video game fans looking to experience more of the epic universe. The games themselves have traditionally been a mixed bag, with some good, some bad, and a few that radiated the dark side every time you passed the display case. The latest games in the pipeline, though, look to be full of the good stuff, from already released games like Knights of the Old Republic to the upcoming Republic Commando. One of those games is Empire at War, a real time strategy with all the stuff to be a hit. Check out Blaine's preview for a glimpse of things to come.

Jade Empire
game: Jade Empire
preview | 07/10/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
The wizards at Bioware that brought us Knights of the Old Republic are at it again. Jade Empire is an action RPG set in mythological China, and so far it seems like it has all the right stuff. Like KOTR, Jade Empire looks to offer a strong, story driven RPG experience and a hearty dose of action. Our guy Eric Bodrero got his hands on it at E3 and has good things to say about it. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
game: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
review | 01/11/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
I consider Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to be one of the greatest games ever created and one of the most important, intriguing texts of this young millennium. Copious amounts of dialogue conspire into well crafted conversations that carry real consequences in both gameplay and story. The Xbox masterpiece makes its way to the PC, and this one is not to be missed“ just make sure to download the patch. But click here before you do, and read the full review.

BioWare\'s latest foray into the console market has been a resounding success. There\'s a good reasons why Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been burning up the sales charts this summer: It freaking rules. Play as a light side or dark side jedi, save wookies, travel to exotic worlds and kill maneating beasts. How much better does it get?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Review
game: Star Wars: The Clone Wars
review | 07/06/03 | Jeremy Kauffman
LucasArts kicks us down another title this week: Star Wars: The Clone Wars for Xbox. How does this version fare? The addition of online multiplayer modes is more than welcome, and it actually makes this mediocre game pretty entertaining. However, all is not perfect in the Republic, that\'s for sure. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Preview (Xbox, PC)
game: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
preview | 03/02/03 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
One of the most beloved RPG developers, Bioware (makers of hits such as Neverwinter Nights and Baldur\'s Gate), has grabbed hold of one of the most beloved franchises, Star Wars, and created an RPG for the RPG starved Xbox and the not-so-RPG-starved PC. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic should be super cool. Click here.
