game: Space Empires V
review | 01/04/07 | George Holomshek
Space Empires V doesn\'t exactly revolutionize the world of 4X gaming, but it does offer a multitude of micromanagement options, if that\'s your thing. The space empire building title lets you explore the universe and meet strange races with one of the most extensive diplomacy systems we\'ve ever seen, but is plagued with bugs that often get in the way. If you like micromanaging politics and investigating branching technology trees, Space Empires V might be for you, but only if you can survive the learning curve and a lot of frustration.

game: Metal Saga
review | 06/02/06 | Amanda Bateman
Atlus and developer Success bring us Metal Saga, a sci-fi RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world where outlaws and monsters run rampant. You play a nameless boy on a mission to save the world. Does that sound like a typical RPG plot? Absolutely. But when you add in some clever humor, plenty of minigames and non-linear extras to explore, and canine companions sporting heavy military-style rocketry, it can\'t be all bad, can it? Amanda took on the challenge of Metal Saga. Get her rerview here.

game: N3: Nintety-Nine Nights
news | 09/30/05 | Shawn Rider
Tetsuya Mizuguchi is most well-known for his rhythm-based experimental games Rez and Lumines. Both of these games have been major cult hits, and Mizuguchi continues to explore these areas. But in his new title for Xbox 360, N3: Ninety-Nine Nights, Mizuguchi puts you in control of a badass fighter slaughtering oceans of enemies. It looks a lot like playing Dynasty Warriors on acid, and we\'ve got the screens to prove it.
game: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
news | 09/30/05 | Shawn Rider
Bethesda\'s Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is sure to be one of the standout titles on (or will it be around?) the launch of the Xbox 360. The sequel to the legendary Morrowind, Oblivion offers a vibrant, living world for players to explore. News comes today that the world of Oblivion will also feature loads of celebrity voice talent: We knew about Lynda Carter\'s audio presence in the game already, but now we hear that Terrence Stamp, Sean Bean, and Patrick Stewart will also lend their talents to Oblivion. Get the full story here.

With the announcement of the Revolution controller, Nintendo has proven that, at least some of the time, they really \"get\" it. Get what? Gaming. In a next-gen lineup that has been, frankly, a total snooze-fest, the Revolution has finally shown us a sliver of light, which we think will broaden into a bright new direction for game design to explore. While Sony and Microsoft are content to release platform upgrades, it looks like Nintendo is the only one attempting to move gaming to a new generation.
game: Dark and Light

There are some games at E3 that tend to jump up and surprise you.
For me, one of these games was Farlan Entertainment's new,
medieval-themed......
game: Fugitive Hunter
review | 01/11/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror, is a terribly crafted FPS by any gameplay standard: horribly bland graphics, lame and choppy gameplay, the list goes on. In short, this swill isn't worth playing if you get it for free. From a rhetorical standpoint, Fugitive Hunter is propaganda of the worst sort, and reeks of McCarthy-era brutality and ignorance. The game is a must miss, but the review is a must read, as Steffan Ralph DelPiano explores the disturbing implications of Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror.

Microsoft\'s latest space epic is called Freelancer, and it\'s a ton of fun. Featuring a gigantic universe for you to explore, this game puts you in the role of a freelance trader and mercenary. Flying through the stars blowing stuff up has rarely been this much fun. Plus, it looks real pretty. Click here for the whole rundown.
