Imagine this: two separate collectives with much in common but worlds apart.  There are no physical ties, no shared communication, and each wants something that the other has.  The resolution sounds like nothing less than the merger of Ogakor and Kucha tribes into Barramundi, but we're not talkin' reality TV here.  What we have here is a failure to communicate, two computers seeking to share files and resources, a chasm that can be bridged without cables and wires.

D-Link has done it again with its elegant, easy-to-install DWL-920 11Mbps USB Wireless Home Network Kit. The DWL-920 is a Digital Home Solution that makes networking more accessible than ever before by providing the easiest way of connecting PC’s or latptops together without having to run wires from machine to machine. This wireless network kit allows home users the opportunity to share files, digital photos and other media files as well as printers, scanners and other peripherals.

The D-Link DWL-920 USB Wireless Kit is a high performance 11Mb standard compliant wireless network in a box and comes with everything needed to connect two PC’s together into a Local Area Network combined with the ease of use of the USB interface. The DWL-920 includes two DWL-120 USB Wireless adapters and one DWL-1000AP Access Point.  The operating range of this baby is an astounding 100 meters indoors and 300 meters outside!

The DWL-920 USB Wireless Kit strictly adheres to the IEEE 802.11b wireless networking standard for maximum interoperability and proves to be faster than other, older proprietary wireless networks.  You won't even need to remove the covers from your PCs, just connect the DWL-1000AP Access Point to your Cable or DSL modem and plug the DWL-120 USB Wireless adapters into your CPUs; the diagram below illustrates the beauty and elegance of this system:

Installation is a snap; everything is very straightforward and easy to control, with documentation available at the click of a button.  Compatible with Windows 98, Me, 2000, and NT 4.0, the DWL-120 has an MSRP of $599 but we've seen it as low as $450--a real steal for the quality and flexibility of this very fine wireless networking solution.

The DWL-120 USB Wireless Network Adapters operate in 2.4 Ghz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) and are designed with the ability to operate in 3.3V or 5.0V DC. In addition, the DWL-120 adapters use a 40-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) Encryption for a secure network connection. The DWL-920 11Mbps USB Wireless Kit comes with lifetime warranty and absolutely FREE Technical Support including software updates.

D-Link reaffirms their well-deserved survivor status by delivering the goods with the very impressive DWL-920 USB Wireless Kit.  They accepted the challenge and won.  The tribe has spoken.
