The Simpsons are a perennial videogame topic. Many of the games created in the franchise are utterly forgettable. (Anyone up for a round of Simpsons Wrestling? Didn\'t think so...) But there have been a few well-done Simpsons games: Simpsons Hit and Run (a GTA clone) and The Simpsons Road Rage (a Crazy Taxi clone) were both enjoyable. The Simpsons Game isn\'t a direct rip-off of any particular game. It sticks to a platform/action approach and uses the whole world of videogames for its satirical fodder. The result is a Simpsons game that may be slightly less polished in terms of gameplay but is easily the game that feels most like a real Simpsons episode. Check out our review for more.

There have been rumors aplenty since the explosive launch of Halo 3. The rumors pointed to the an \"insider\" who said Bungie and Microsoft will be parting ways, and that, as we just received word, is true. Bungie Studios will become an independents developer, although Microsoft will retain the rights to the Halo franchise, and Bungie will still be focusing mainly on Microsoft\'s platform. Quote Harold Ryan, Studio head for Bungie, \"We will continue to develop with our primary focus on Microsoft\'s platforms; we greatly value our mutually prosperous relationship with our publisher, Microsoft Game Studios, and we look forward to continuing that affiliation through \'Halo\' and beyond.\"

officially unofficial according to Capcom reps. But you know we\'ll probably see a Dead Rising sequel some time in the near future.
Dead Rising sold over a million copies worldwide and became one of the staple buys for adopters of the Xbox 360. It was an excellent survival horror game with some great humor. The sandbox environment, multiple endings, and various side quests gave it longevity. Basically, we know it\'s coming on one

game: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

One of the greatest 2D platformers ever created and certainly the best Castlevania game yet, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday (March 21). Blending a memorable storyline and iconic characters (you play as Dracula\'s son, Alucard, fer crissakes!), RPG elements, and a long (read: MASSIVE) game, SOTN is going to be a huge release for Xbox Live Arcade.

Ami and Yumi are back in Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: The Genie and the Amp, fresh from D3 Publisher, whose lineup this year includes several noteworthy titles. For the younger set, The Genie and the Amp is pretty much right on: A cool franchise is done justice with good production and solid game design. This won\'t popularize the Puffy AmiYumi franchise with the hardcore gaming demographic, but it will be a hit on the playground. Read Laurie\'s review for the details.

Due for any platform that will run it at some point in the indeterminate future (you know how these uber-game projects go...), Spore offers, literally, the whole universe in a game. Xbox Live Anywhere is propelling Microsoft\'s multiplayer gaming community into a whole new realm, bringing it cross-platform in all sorts of cool ways. One of the major new features of the Anywhere service will be a much expanded Xbox Live Arcade, which will offer games on almost every mobile phone and PDA platform. Bringing the reliability, not to mention the try-before-you-buy mentality, of Xbox Live to the mobile gaming experience could be just the thing to get us to take cell phones seriously as a gaming platform. Microsoft has announced Xbox Live Anywhere, which will unify gaming on Windows Vista, Xbox 360 and Windows Mobile devices. Not only does this mean voice chat, friends list management, and text and multimedia messaging, but also multiplatform interoperability. Atari has announced that yet another title is under development for the Nintendo Revolution, this time a Dragon Ball Z game. In a press release earlier this morning, Atari announced Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 for the Revolution, saying that, \"The... controller featured with Nintendo Revolution is perfectly suited for Dragon Ball Z... which engages players with fast-paced fighting moves.\" Dragon Ball Z games on the current generation have mixed fighting with RPG elements to varying degrees of success. We\'ll see how that translates onto Nintendo\'s new platform.

The upcoming mobile RPG, The Shroud, is noteworthy for two reasons: First, it\'s one of a small group of titles to bring console-style RPG gaming to the cellular phone platform. Second, it\'s the first of such titles to implement GPS-based gameplay. Part of The Shroud\'s gameplay consists of completing challenges located in the real world, a whole new gaming paradigm facilitated by the GPS capabilities built into so many of today\'s mobile phones. Finally, the Princess has come into her own: Super Princess Peach marks the first time longtime Mario world fave, Princess Peach, has played the lead role in her own platformer. Incorporating the touch screen and the microphone found on the Nintendo DS, Super Princess Peach offers up a great spin on classic Mario-style gaming, with an excellent level of quality. Rumors have more or less stated that the PlayStation 3 won\'t make its Spring launch, and now it\'s official. The PS3 is coming in November. November of 2006 will have the PS3 hitting store shelves a full year behind the Xbox 360, which launched in late November of 2005. Without specific word on when Nintendo plans on releasing their Revolution, it\'s hard to say whether or not this will make the PS3 the last console of this generation to reach the market. Astro Boy has been praised by reviewers since its release in 2003. Another gem from Treasure, Astro Boy proves there is still some enjoyment to find in the 2D action gaming arena. A shooter/platformer in the vein of Gunstar Heroes, Astro Boy brings Osamu Tezuka\'s world reknowned character to life on the Game Boy Advance. We rarely get Astro Boy releases in the US, which is another testament to just how good this game is. Check out the conclusion to Robert\'s six-part retrospective here. Fittingly, Robert looks at how the legendary Treasure and the legendary Tezuka combine to create a GBA title that should be in every gamer\'s library.
