game: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
review | 12/09/06 | George Holomshek
The Wii has burst onto the scene this Fall every bit as popular as some imagined. Its success is due, in part, to a single title that many Nintendo fans have been eager to play: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has been re-tooled from its Gamecube origins for the Wii\'s unique controller and brawnier hardware. The result is a launch title of virtually unparalleled quality. Is Twilight Princess all that we hoped it would be? Our man George is mighty impressed. Check out his review for the details.
game: Naruto: Clash of Ninja
review | 05/08/06 | George Holomshek
D3 Publisher and developer, Eighting, have done good work with the Naruto Gamecube title, Naruto: Clash of the Ninja. For a franchise-based kids\' game, Clash of the Ninja offers surprisingly enjoyable fighting action, especially in the multiplayer, and nice visuals in the 2D-fighter tradition. This is one cartoon-based title that parents don\'t have to be afraid to buy their children. George has the full story here.
game: Shonen Jump?s Naruto: Ninja Council
review | 05/08/06 | RJ Brooks
The Naruto franchise gives us the old one-two punch with a Gamecube title and this Game Boy Advance game, Naruto: Ninja Council. Featuring bright, anime-styled graphics and traditionally-based 2D platforming and brawling action, Ninja Council has a lot of promise. But does all that promise pay off? Or is this an example of the OTHER kind of cartoon franchise-based game (the kind you shouldn\'t play)? Get Robert\'s full review here to find out.
game: Final Fantasy XI
preview | 01/25/06 | Matt James
Final Fantasy has been a holdout series, maintaining its PlayStation 2 exclusivity for the larger part of this previous generation. (Square Enix did give in and release some Final Fantasy games for Gamecube and GBA in the past few years.) The Xbox 360 will break down those walls. Not only is Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi bringing a series of exclusive games to Xbox 360 with his new company, but Final Fantasy XI will arrive on the platform, too. The latest copy of Xbox Magazine features a Final Fantasy XI beta test disc for Xbox 360 owners. If you\'re a fan of FF, then you\'ll want to check this out. Our man, Matt James, has the rundown on the beta test experience.
game: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
news | 12/28/05 | Shawn Rider
According to NGC Magazine, and reported by Game Daily, the upcoming Legend of Zelda title, Twilight Princess, will be playable with the Nintendo Revolution controller. This news has not been confirmed by Nintendo, and Twilight Princess will still be officially released for the Gamecube. According to Games Radar, the online affiliate of NGC Magazine (a print magazine published in the UK, US, and Japan), Twilight Princess will support a radical new control style if played on the Nintendo Revolution console with its unique controller.
game: Crash Tag Team Racing
review | 11/17/05 | Matt James
Crash Tag Team Racing comes a year after the old Double-Dash did in the venerable Mario Kart on Gamecube and double-dashed the hopes of many a fan. But don\'t be fooled by the immediate resemblance here: Crash Tag Team Racing might look like a Double-Dash rip-off, but in reality it has much more to offer. Combining a quality Crash platformer with zany, fast-paced racing action, Crash Tag Team Racing is unlike any other game we\'ve played. Still not convinced? OK, then, two words: Ninja Penguins. \'Nuff said. Check Matt\'s review here.
game: Resident Evil 4
review | 11/13/05 | Laurie Taylor
Resident Evil 4 is a massive lurch forwards for the quintessential survival horror franchise. A completely new control scheme makes RE4 a much more agile, fast-paced game experience, and the storyline is a refreshing departure from the old \"take out the secret Umbrella experiment\" rigmarole we\'ve gotten used to. This isn\'t your mother\'s Resident Evil game. Making its debut on the PlayStation 2 after a huge success on the Gamecube, RE4 is finding a whole new audience. Our woman Laurie gets down to business with Capcom\'s venerable old franchise, and she likes what she finds.

GameCube, and will finally see a release as a first-party Xbox 360 launch title. In Kameo you play a shapeshifting faerie who morphs into different tough guy fighters as needed. Check out our previous coverage for more, and get the podcast for the complete backstory.
game: WWE Day of Reckoning 2
review | 10/16/05 | Chris Martin
We got Chris Martin\'s skinny butt in the ring with WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for the GameCube, and, oddly enough, he came out with a weird afterglow that made him forget about all the bruises and mat burns. Day of Reckoning 2 is pretty much a \"bigger, better, more\" improvement over its predecessor, and veteran in-the-ring game developer, Yuke\'s Media Creations, really brings it with a game good enough to make non-wrestling fans want to play it. Check out the review here.
news | 10/09/05 | Aaron Stanton
BBC News is reporting that sales of the GameCube have dropped substantially in the US, and while the DS and GB Micro have sold well, development costs for the Nintendo Revolution have taken a serious toll on Nintendo\'s operating profits. Pre-tax income for the company has fallen nearly 41% since June, according to BBC. This still makes them more financially stable than Sony, which has posted substantial losses over recent years. Though they\'re making less money now, they are still operating at a substantial profit. Microsoft loses money on its Xbox division, but props up the operation with profits from other business ventures.
game: Kameo: Elements of Power
news | 10/05/05 | Shawn Rider
Rare\'s long-in-development Kameo: Elements of Power has made gamers oddly curious for over half a decade now. We\'re curious about the great graphics, lush game world, Xbox Live multiplayer, and, of course, Rare\'s reputation for delivering great titles. But it\'s odd because the game has been in development since it first debuted on N64, then moved to GameCube, and finally will land on Xbox 360 this Fall. Historically, such business shenanigans are not good for a game. We\'ll find out this Fall when we finally get our hands on Kameo: Elements of Power. In the meantime, here are some new screens.
game: Tales of Legendia
news | 09/15/05 | Aaron Stanton
Namco has cut the ribbon on the
teaser website for Tales of Legendia, the latest in the popular Tales series of RPGs. The Tales games have become renowned over the years for their stylized cartoon graphics, their young, well-developed characters, and the games\' real-time battle system. The website has basic information on the story, the characters, and the environments that you can expect to be adventuring through when the game releases come 2006. The last time we saw the Tales series, it was on the Nintendo
GameCube in Tales of Symphonia, one of the best RPGs to ever appear on the system. Or on any system. Tales of Legendia will be released in winter of 2006 for the PS2.
game: Xbox 360
news | 09/12/05 | Aaron Stanton
A member of the Xbox 360 development team has told BBC that Microsoft\'s next generation game system will be difficult to hack. We can only speculate about what that means. It also brings to mind a few other interesting attempts by companies in the past to prevent hacking, such as Nintendo\'s brilliant move to make the GameCube so unpopular that no one would care. We here at GamesFirst have figured out a fool proof hacking system, though, that works pretty much every time.
game: Scooby-Doo! Unmasked
preview | 06/17/05 | Eric Bodrero
For anyone that grew up - or are currently growing up - on the antics of Scooby-Doo, you'll be happy to hear that there's a new Scooby-Doo title coming this fall. Set for release on the GameCube, PS2, Xbox, and GBA, you can expect to be controlling Scooby through some really impressive looking cartoon levels. Take a look at this preview for an idea of what you can expect when this title hits the shelves.
game: Sonic Gems Collection
