I might be tempted to dismiss this game if it were not for the developers because Rare, well, they rarely disappoint. No matter where you stand politically on Conker\'s Bad Fur Day, there\'s no disputing the quality of gameplay. There was something in that game for virtually everyone. Star Fox seems to throw even more types of gameplay into the mix. This game sports adventure/puzzle elements, space shooting levels, and even some race style action. Star Fox originally started off as a couple of different games. Dinosaur Planet has been in the works in various incarnations for the last few years. With the Gamecube came the injection of Fox McCloud and his trademark Arwing fighter.

Visually the game\'s a real treat. It\'s not going to break any new ground, but covers the old ground extremely effectively. It really is one of the most visually impressive games I\'ve seen. When I looked at Fox McCloud, I got the distinct impression that I would be able to count the individual hairs covering his face if I were so inclined. The dinosaurs spread throughout the game look simply fantastic. It feels like you\'re in the middle of Jurassic Park only you\'re a fox and all of the dinosaurs talk.

As with most of the Nintendo line up, Star Fox sports a very intuitive control scheme. In the upper right hand corner is a little key helping you remember what does what. The third person action aspect of the game has a nice little fighting and shooting mode. The Arwing levels of the game feel a lot like the N64 game with much, much more happening on the screen.

Star Fox Adventures has been delayed more times than I can count, but Nintendo assures us that the September release date is firm. From what I\'ve seen and played, it will be more than worth the wait.
