Click to read. The original Xbox controller was widely ridiculed as being a massive behemoth which only the largest lumberjack could hope to comfortably tame. The rest of us merely went along for the ride. But Microsoft corrected the design with the release and adoption of the Xbox Controller S, a much smaller controller that gamers embraced. The Controller S was an example of Microsoft listening to their customers, and the change helped them build the Xbox audience.

Big M has made another move to bring a whole new audience to gaming with the announcement of the 360 Controller L, the first game controller designed specifically for left-handed gamers.

\"Microsoft is very excited to continue their tradition of excellence in gaming innovation as well as their longstanding commitment to disabled, or differently abled, gamers,\" said Peter Moore, Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business, Entertainment and Devices Division.

The 360 Controller L features the exact same control and button setup as the standard Xbox 360 controller, but the controls are \"flopped\" to allow for greater control by gamers who predominantly use their left hands.

Microsoft has commissioned extensive research into field of flopping technology, primarily through independent research firm, GF Metrics. Aaron Stanton, Vice President of Commissioned Research for Microsoft, commented, \"Flopping technology is a critical innovation for not only gaming, but all sorts of hardware and software applications. The \'flop\' is possibly the next greatest revolution in entertainment technology. Period.\"

Microsoft has yet to announce an exact release date or price for the 360 Controller L, but analysts expect more details, as well as working demonstration units, at this year\'s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
