Altec Lansing 5100 Series Speakers Review
review | 09/10/02 | Aaron Stanton
Altec Lansing brings us a very affordable 5.1 system for PC, DVD, and console gaming. The 5100 Series Speakers are not just incredibly stylish looking, but pump out some high quality sound, and all for under $200. That\'s not bad at all. Get the scoop here.

Greek Geeks Fight Gaming Ban
editorial | 09/05/02 | Shawn Rider
In a horribly misguided stab at limiting gambling in public places, the Greek Government has created a ban on all videogames. That\'s right: Playing games on your PC, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Game Boy Advance (especially in public) is illegal in Greece. The first couple of internet cafe owners have been arrested already for allowing gaming in their public establishments, and things have gotten more rotten than 4:00 AM at a LAN bash over there. Click here for our coverage.

Nostalgia gaming is a hot topic these days. We hear from gamers who insist the old-school was the best school of gaming. If you\'re one of these retro gaming addicts, check out Atari Revival -- it packs Combat, Missle Command and Warlords into a pretty new graphical skin but keeps the same old-school gameplay. Click here for the story.

Shantae Review (GBC)
game: Shantae
review | 07/26/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Shantae is a sexy little half-genie. She dances in a club for money by night and fights sexy little enemies by day. She is Sequin Land\'s only hope for salvation from the evil (but sexy) Risky Boots\' dastardly plans. It\'s a GBC title, with enhancements for GBA, but still worth a look. Cute and quirky, this game has a DDR-style clone built in and a monkey. What else do you want?

Warlords Battlecry II Review (PC)
game: Warlords Battlecry II
review | 07/20/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Ubi Soft and SSG bring us some old-fashioned isometric perspective, but the gameplay in Warlords Battlecry II is completely modern. Incorporating some RPG elements not only increases your investment in units and characters, but adds a twist that makes this already really fun title into an addictive must-play RTS. Check it out here.

review | 06/28/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
What would Alfred Hitchcock think of Alfred Hitchcock Presents: The Final Cut? We\'re not sure, but our man Paul takes his best shot at figuring it out. If you loved Myst, if you pine for another 7th Guest, and if you\'re a Hitchcock fan, then you might really dig this game. Otherwise, go rent Rear Window and call it good. Click here.

Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis Review
game: Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis
review | 06/28/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
It\'s one of the oldest stories we know: Multiple groups of settlers fight amongst themselves to control a newly discovered world, empty except for the natives. Nope, this isn\'t a pre-July 4 history lesson, it\'s the plot of Dark Planet: Battle for Natrolis. This bargain-priced strategy game brings some interesting features to the table, but overall it ends up falling a bit flat. Click here for more.

Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix Review
game: Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix
review | 06/28/02 | Rick Fehrenbacher
Activision follows up their cult hit with a sequel that mostly gives the fans more of the same. Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix features nicer graphics and a more robust GHOUL system (which allows you to take out your enemies piece by piece), but the gameplay remains oriented around shooting, shooting, and shooting more. review | 06/23/02 | Matt Baldwin
Capcom brings us another phenomenal RPG for the GBA, and thank goodness. Breath of Fire II is a worthy successor to the franchise. While next-gen RPGs are few and far between, this old-school SNES port packs some classic gameplay in a tidy, pretty, and portable package. Click here.

It seems like everyone these days wants to get out the old Indy and dust him off.
