Sounds Good, Good Sounds: Turtle Beach Ear Force X2 Review
game: Ear Force X2
review | 06/29/06 | Shawn Rider
Turtle Beach brings their Xbox-targeted headphones to a whole new level of quality with the Ear Force X2 Wireless Xbox Headphones. The Ear Force X2 is a (mostly) wireless setup that works very nicely with your Xbox 360 console, providing high quality audio and voice chat in a audiophile quality package. And the X2 headphones deliver the goods for just under a hundred bucks, which makes them a natural choice. We can see why the MLG would license these as the \"official\" headphones of Major League Gaming.

With the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, and the Wii on the market come November, how will Sony cope? Are they looking for an answer to Microsoft\'s Live Anywhere service, which will link Xbox 360 owners, PC owners, and mobile owners in a new and fresh way? Are they looking to clean up with their Blu-Ray high definition disc player? Or will their new tilt/sensor Dual un-Shock controller be able to propell Sony beyond Nintendo\'s Wii? And of course, he doesn\'t mind ripping the PC a new one while he\'s at it. Tough as nails, if there\'s only one thing you had to say about Phil its \"he\'s got balls.\" Read on to find out why.

Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators Review, or Why 2D Games Still Rock
game: Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators
review | 06/01/06 | Chris Martin
Games like Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Freelancer have become famous for their open-ended and near endless gameplay. With incredibly diverse player choice and a universe that\'s randomly generated each time you start a new campaign, Space Rangers 2 looks to give both titles a run for their money. The 2D RTS/3D Turn-based Strategy/Action title mixes a bit of everything into a game that\'s easily capable of taking on Oblivion in terms of the ability to go anywhere, and do anything. Space Rangers 2 is an unexpected gem that you\'ve probably not heard about, but should have.

Pre-E3: Sadness Preview
game: Sadness
preview | 05/07/06 | George Holomshek
Indy Polish developer, Nibris, has given us some very nice screens of their upcoming Wii project, Sadness. Sadness is an unusual game for a few reasons: It\'s entirely in black-and-white, which gives it the feel of a creepy old-school horror movie. The psychological tensions built into the game should help to accentuate that \"Psycho\" quality, and to further intensify the gameplay, Nibris has also disregarded traditional weapons in favor of ad hoc armaments. Players will have to defend themselves with sticks, stones, torches, and shards of glass. George has a complete rundown on why Sadness is on his radar at E3 2006.

Oblivion's Missing Physics
game: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
feature | 04/16/06 | Aaron Stanton
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has consistently been impressing reviewers and gamers alike. The expansive world and do-anything style of gameplay is quickly coming to define what consumers think of as next generation. However, even with its beautiful lighting effects and never-ending storyline, Oblivion\'s environments serve as a perfect example of why physics will be what really defines next generation gaming, not still visuals. It is a splendidly beautiful world that still requires a blind eye in order to believe the environment. Be sure to read the full article.

Gunstar Heroes Review
game: Gunstar Heroes
review | 02/20/06 | RJ Brooks
Gunstar Heroes for the Sega Genesis is one of the most amazing action-platformer titles of the 16-bit era. Released in 1993 with minimum promotion, the game never took off in terms of sales like it deserved. Instead, it has attained a level of cult status very few games receive, but developers always hope will occur for their projects. Part two in our six-part Treasure retrospective, this retro review of Gunstar Heroes should make clear why gamers still return to its action-packed gameplay.

GelTabz Review
game: GelTabz
review | 01/02/06 | Shawn Rider
GelTabz are an unlikely must-have enhancement. They are so incredibly simple they\'ll have you wondering why more game controllers don\'t make use of their innovative design. But they are so effective that once you give them a shot, you won\'t want to play without them. As natural a fit as a baseball glove and a baseball bat, GelTabz are definitely worth a closer look. Judge Blocks California Anti-Violent Videogame Law
news | 12/28/05 | Shawn Rider
We reported back in October about an anti-violent videogame law passed by California legislators and signed by Governor Schwarzenegger, who has starred in enough violent videogames to know something about the matter. The legislation immediately sparked a lawsuit from the Entertainment Software Association, which argues that the law is both unnecessary and impedes the First Ammendment rights of minors. Yesterday a US District Judge Ronald Whyte issued an injunction against the law, citing the likelihood of the ESA winning its case to reverse the legislation, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.
