game: Transformers
review | 06/12/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
As soon as this title was announced, Transformers fans young and old began to wait with anticipation, and the fear that one of the classics of American youth entertainment might produce a flawed game. Well, Transformers fans, I can assure you that this is not the case: read the full report here.
game: Sphinx and Cursed Mummy
review | 04/21/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
It might be tempting to dismiss Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy as just another platformer, but you'd be missing out it you did. Though there are a few flaws to be found here and there, great characters, varied gameplay, and cool puzzles are just a few of the reasons to give this one a look. Click here for the full review.
game: Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior
review | 04/02/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
It's strange to think that a franchise with a long and detailed history would spawn a game that seems largely ignorant of that Warhammer 40k flavor, but that's exactly what happened with Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior. And that's not the worst of it. Absurdly bad physics and poor graphics round out the list of biggest flaws. On the upside, the music doesn't suckwhich would be a bigger compliment if there actually were music in the game. Click here for the full review.
game: Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu
review | 01/19/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
I'd like to be the first one to tell you that Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu is a pretty good game, but if I did I would be a really huge liar so I'm not going to. One of the worst fighting systems ever engineered, bland graphics and little variety are a few of the fatal flaws that doom this game. How bad could it really be? Click here to find out.
game: Tak
review | 01/11/04 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Those with a hankering for some platformer action should look into Tak and the Power of Juju, especially those who are big on the Nickelodeon scene. While Tak isn't going to be up for any game of the year awards, it doesn't have any real flaws either. Does that make it a sleeper hit for Christmas? Click here to find out.
game: Law and Order II
review | 10/16/03 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Law and Order II: Double or Nothing starts with a pretty good idea. A narrative driven videogame where you spend the first half of the game trying to solve a mystery and the second half of the game going for a conviction in the courtroom sounds like a, innovative, promising concept. How is the execution? Tristan, a long time Law and Order fan, puts this steaming pile on trial. Click here for the verdict.

Dana Bruno runs the one-woman-show, The Bruno Report (www.brunoreport.net), which has been getting more than a little notice recently due to her high profile involvement in the Search 4 E. Search 4 E (www.search4e.org) is a project underway from True Crime Press to utilize Websurfing civillians to help solve the mystery of what happened to the even more mysterious "E" (Ed Sobian, Eric Sobel, or Emil Sobiak, take your pick). Currently there is reluctance in the law enforcement community to take up the missing persons case, largely due to the fact that it is hard to determine whether E was kidnapped or ran away, so in a move spearheaded by James Pitt (the well-known author) and True Crime Press, private investigators have been brought in. The allure of large amounts of money and valuable items found by professional and amateur investigators researching the case has helped generate serious interest.
game: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights
review | 07/26/02 | Monica Hafer
Like, wow, folks: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights is an amazing rendition of the cartoon and a great play while it lasts. Sure to satisfy the younger crowd, and pleasing to us old fogeys who \"get it\", this title is not without its flaws. You\'ll definitely want to get the scoop here. Yoinks!
game: No One Lives Forever
review | 07/03/02 | GF! Back Catalogue 10/2004 => 1995
Sierra brings its classic FPS franchise to the PS2, and all we can say is that Cate deserved better. No One Lives Forever is a disappointing console port, right along the lines of Half Life for the PS2. You can\'t beat the story and some of the gameplay in NOLF, but it is severely flawed. game: Hunter: The Reckoning
review | 06/19/02 | Shawn Rider
Interplay has made a major console push this year -- all they showed were console titles at E3. If Hunter: The Reckoning is any example, they have a long way to go before they get the console game really figured out. Hunter is a blast in a lot of ways, but also seriously flawed. Just this week the IDSA (Interactive Digital Software Association, the trade organization for video game makers and the like) announced a lawsuit naming six individuals who have been copying and distributing, for a profit, all kinds of games. What's even more astonishing is that one of these folks is from Idaho, the great home state of GF! We just don't get much publicity for Idaho, and I felt like the connection beckoned me to write this article.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... arcade machines cost you a quarter. Now, the only games you can find at that stunning price are Ms. Pacman and Asteroids (at least here at the Seattle Gameworks). Needless to say, if you want to jump into the cockpit of an X-wing fighter or go one-on-one with Law in Tekken 3 it\'s going to cost you.
